Inspired by the show Fleabag's "Chatty Wednesday," we're thrilled to offer Chatty Saturday - a gathering for lesbian, queer, trans, and enby folks in the Vancouver/Portland area!

Attendees will draw a number and sit at the table with that number, where they'll be randomly seated with a stranger. A no pressure meetup to help you meet new people & combat isolation. There are no expectations other than to have a fun evening. Just show up, grab a cup of tea, and have fun!

Please sign up ahead of time so that we can get a headcount. Tickets are $5.

3rd Annual Rainbow Walk

3rd Annual Rainbow Walk

Clark County Pride began as a small committee of like-minded folks who wanted to see Pride celebrated in the little town of La Center, Washington. As a group in the middle of a pandemic, we put together what turned out to be a beautifully successful Pride Rainbow Walk and community picnic in June of 2021 on the hottest day ever recorded in Southwest Washington. We’ve realized anew that the outlying areas of Clark County and Southwest Washington don’t have the same resources of Pride and queer-focused organizations like the more urban and suburban areas.

Now Clark County Pride is striving to be a porchlight for the people who identify as part of this community, and couldn’t be more passionate about providing resources and safe spaces and connections – like our 2023 Rainbow Walk and Pride Festival! This year we have expanded the event to include a family-oriented festival at Holley Park with music, vendors, food, and community resources.

The Amazing History Race
Jun

The Amazing History Race

2022 is the second year that the Clark County Historical Museum has hosted "The Amazing History Race." This race is more a scavenger hunt though, as teams of up to four people solve clues taking them throughout downtown and Vancouver's history.

This is a family friendly event sure to be fun for everyone, whether you are an avid "hardcore historian" or a "history buff" who merely "dabbles" in history.

One History Buff registration (beginning level scavenger hunt) at $40 allows you to have a team of 2-4.

One Hardcore Historian registration (expert level scavenger hunt) at $80 allows you to have a team of 2-4.

And this year there is a new partner nonprofit, the Police Activities League of SW Washington. Thus when you sign up to compete you're not just supporting one amazing nonprofit, but two, doubling your impact!

In addition to the scavenger hunt, you will have an opportunity to both improve your chances of winning and help raise more funds for both organizations.

Once registered, a link and a QR Code will be sent your way. These will go to your team’s donation page. Share the link and/or QR code via email or via social media with colleagues, friends, and family and encourage them to make a donation on behalf of your team. For every $25 donated on behalf of your team 5 minutes will be taken off your race time.

Buy your team's ticket here: https://www.eventbrite.com/.../amazing-history-race...

And early bird pricing is good through April 21st!

Books and Blooms

One of the booths will be the middle school LGBTQ+ student club (The Rainbow Club). Sadly, this has been an especially hard year for these kids with a lot of hate directed at them and their advisors. I’m hoping people will come from far and wide to shop their booth and let them know they are wanted, accepted, and loved. The event is in conjunction with a community-wide book swap (books will be 50 cents each). The event is on May 14th. The plant sale is 9-1, book swap 9-11. The address is 15916 NE 182nd Ave Brush Prairie WA. For more info check out http://hockce.org/community-events. I hope to see you there.
